Situated 650 ft up in the Bathgate Hills, Bankhead Farm is within an easy 25 minute drive from Edinburgh, only 15 minutes from the Forth Bridge’s, 35 miles from Glasgow and Inverness is only two and a half hours away.

Directions

Directions to Bankhead from Glasgow & the M9 Stirling to Edinburgh

  1. Take the exit at Junction 2 on the M9 towards BROXBURN
  2. Head right towards Broxburn and Oatridge College
  3. Follow the road over the rail and canal to the T junction at 3 mile town
  4. Take a right and left in quick succession towards Broxburn/Oatridge
  5. Take right at the top of the hill for Beecraigs and Riccarton
  6. Take left at the next side road, just before the white cottage.
  7. The road is signposted Dechmont. Keep on this road and take left at the T junction
  8. Follow the road to Dechmont for about 1 mile.
  9. The Farm entrance is on the corner, as the road takes a sharp turn left to go downhill.
  10. Note the B & B sign.
  11. Watch out for oncoming traffic

Directions to Bankhead from the South

  1. Head for M8 (Motorway between Edinburgh & Glasgow)
  2. Follow the signs for Edinburgh M8 as soon as you see them
  3. Junction 3 Livingston (East) is your exit. This is the second turnoff for Livingston from the Glasgow side. Do not take Junction 3a.
  4. At the roundabout with the arch head for Broxburn A899. It may also be signposted for Edinburgh A8
  5. At the next roundabout go straight through to Dechmont/ Beecraigs Country Park
  6. At the mini roundabout take left towards Dechmont and Beecraigs Country park
  7. Take first right as you enter Dechmont. The sign is Linlithgow and Beecraigs (you have approx. 1½ miles to go)
  8. Follow the winding road up the hill. our entrance is on a sharp right bend at the top of a hill
  9. Signpost B&B.
  10. Follow the farm track and enter the yard/ car park

Directions to Bankhead from the North from Forth Road Bridge

  1. At the Forth Road Bridge take the slip road on the left immediately after crossing the bridge
  2. At the next roundabout take right towards Linlithgow and Newton. You will pass a McDonald’s on your right
  3. Go straight through the small village of Newton
  4. About 2 miles out of Newton, take a left to Uphall/ Broxburn and Oatridge College. There is also a sign for M9 motorway
  5. Follow this twisty road till you hit the T when you will turn right and then left in quick succession. You should keep heading for Broxburn and Oatridge College.
  6. Pass through Ecclesmachan village
  7. As you leave Ecclesmachan take a right for West Binny and follow this road to the T junction
  8. Take left at the T and then follow the road around a tight right turn.
  9. At the next turn left downhill keep going straight ahead up the farm track. You will see the B & B sign
  10. Watch out for oncoming traffic

Directions to Bankhead from Edinburgh Airport

  1. Heading out from the airport, go straight through 2 roundabouts and under the A8 to head west on A8. Signposts are for Livingston or M8 M9
  2. At the Newbridge Roundabout take A89 Broxburn
  3. Keep heading west through 2 sets of lights and the viaduct arches. At the mini roundabout keep left towards Bathgate
  4. Straight through the traffic lights, roundabout and traffic lights
  5. At the large roundabout take right towards Dechmont / Uphall
  6. At the mini roundabout take left towards Dechmont and Beecraigs Country park
  7. Take first right as you enter Dechmont. The sign is Linlithgow and Beecraigs (you have approx. 1½ miles to go)
  8. Follow the winding road up the hill. Entrance is on a sharp right bend at the top of a hill Signpost B&B
  9. Follow the farm track and enter the yard/car park
